About- Ordnance Factory Nalanda
Ordnance Factory Nalanda (OFN), Rajgir (Bihar) the 12th production unit of Munition India Limited, is located in Bihar near the historic Nalanda site. Established on 29th November 2001, the project spans across 3000 acres and focuses on manufacturing Bi-Modular propellant for 155mm Artillery Guns. The project involved rehabilitating 1190 displaced inhabitants and creating a well-planned 500-acre township with essential facilities like hospitals, schools, and community centres. Situated in Rajgir (Bihar), an area rich in historical significance associated with Buddha and Jain philosophy, the factory symbolises the concept of “Strength for Peace” by establishing a defence production unit in a land traditionally known for wisdom and spiritual teachings.
