About- MP Bhoj Open University

Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University (MPBOU) was inaugurated on October 19, 1992, by then President Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, after being established under the Madhya Pradesh University Act 1991 on October 1, 1992. The university’s emblem has an origin in one line from Raja Bhoj’s work ‘Saraswati Kanthabharan’

MPBOU commenced its operations in Bhopal in 1991 and has grown to become one of the leading Open Universities recognized by UGC. The core mission of the institution is to deliver education through distance learning programs to the far-flung unreached regions of the country. They are committed to this perspective through their motto of “Embrace, Engage, Enlighten, and Empower” – to transforming education with the help of technology. The university shows its concern for inclusive education through its rural study centres.
